Bacon Mashed Sweet Potatoes

  • 24 oz. Tasteful Selections® sweet potatoes, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 3 slices of bacon, cooked and chopped
  • ¾ c. plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Place cubed sweet potatoes in large saucepan of salted boiling water, boil for 30 minutes or until tender.Transfer sweet potatoes to a large bowl. Add bacon, yogurt and butter. Smash the sweet potatoes with a potato masher or fork until fluffy but some lumps remain. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.

Recipe Tips: Omit the bacon and yogurt and try adding the following:

  • Orange and Honey Sweets: cut back yogurt to ¼ cup, add ½ cup orange juice, ½ teaspoon orange zest, 2 tablespoons honey, and ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Horseradish Sweets: Add 1-2 tablespoons horseradish for a zesty flavor
  • Smokey Sweets: Add half can chopped chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • Pie-Like Sweets: Keep the yogurt, add ½ teaspoon cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon. freshly grated nutmeg, ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
